At the time of Mrs. Lunn’s admission to The Old Woman’s Home, there were no rooms available.  The Board of Directors had the office remade into a room for Mrs. Lunn until the new Home at West End Avenue was completed.  There is no record of Mrs. Lunn moving to the new Home at 2811 West End Avenue.

In 1909, the Ladies moved to their new Home at 2811 West End Avenue where Mrs. McKee occupied a room which she endowed at a cost of $2500.00.  These rooms were marked by a brass plate on the door and stood as a monument to the generosity of the donor.

Biography

The Young Woman’s Auxiliary of The Old Woman’s Home provided materials for sewing and fancywork to the Ladies.  The finished pieces were sold and the money was divided between the Ladies (for spending money) and the Auxiliary (for use in support of the Ladies).  A Young Woman’s Auxiliary List of Cash Received From Inmates For Work listed Mrs. Matthews as a participant in the program.  Although her date of death is unknown, the last record mentioning Mrs. Matthews was a list of Inmates of The Old Woman’s Home in 1908.
